In the beginning of the meeting Arseniy Yatseniuk welcomed the guest within the walls of Ukrainian Parliament. He remarked that before having been elected to Verkhovna Rada, he also held a position of Minister for Foreign Affairs and that he is well assumed with complexities of this difficult but interesting work.
During the conversation The Arseniy Yatseniuk of Ukraine conveyed an interest in intensification of relations between Parliaments of Ukraine and Romania.
"Active interparliamentary dialogue is an effective instrument, that will not only favor the development of bilateral relations but also will lead to determination of specific problems between Ukraine and Romania, many of which countries inherited from previous time", - Arseniy Yatseniuk noticed.
As having been declared by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada the process of elaboration of Parliamentary Group on Friendship with Romania is held and will start its work in the near future.
During the meeting both sides touched upon the theme of Ukrainian Euro integration, in particular the question of Rumanian support of negotiation process on signing of New Reinforced Agreement with EU. Arseniy Yatseniuk suppose that it will only conduce to the refinement in development of relationships between Kyiv and Bucharest.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Rumania, Lazar Comanescu, on his part, imparted the willingness of Romanian parliamentarians to share their experience in legislative support in process of euro- and Euroantlantic integration.
Also Lazar Comanescu expressed wish for intensification of collaboration between Ukraine and Romania in field of interparliamentary structures such as regional associations as OBEC (Organization of Black Sea Economic Collaboration) and GUAM.
